

Winn and Allred earn spot
on Utah State rodeo team
Brock Winn from Ferron and Wacey Allred from Cleveland have both earned a position on the Utah State high school rodeo team and will be traveling with fellow teammates to Springfield, Ill., from July 22-28 to compete at the 59th annual National High School Finals Rodeo. Brock will be in the Saddle Bronc Competition and Wacey will compete in Bull Riding.
Featuring more than 1,500 contestants from 40 states, five Canadian Provinces, and Australia, the National High School Finals is the world’s largest rodeo. In addition to competing for more than $200,000 in prizes, NHSFR contestants will also be vying for more than $325,000 in college scholarships and the chance to be named the National High School Rodeo National Champion. To earn this title contestants must finish in the top 20 after two go-arounds of intense competition before advancing to the July 28 final championship performance.
Both boys recently graduated from Emery High and were members of the Emery Rodeo Team while attending there. Brock is the son of Kash and Valerie Winn. He also state qualified in the Team Roping competition with his roping partner Colton Grange. Wacey is the son of Guy And Tina Allred He also state qualified in the Saddle Bronc riding and qualified for Silver state in this event and was awarded a $600 scholarship from the Utah State Rodeo Association.
