Energy / Safety Women’s
Conference

Are you prepared to provide first aid and CPR to your loved one in an emergency? Your husband, children and friends may need it one day! Register for WETC and WAAIME’s
Energy/Safety Women’s Conference, First Aid and CPR Class on March 29 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Western Energy Training Center. This class is free if you register by March 24. Book Signing

There will be a signing of the new book The San Rafael Swell, compiled by Dottie Grimes of the Emery County Archives, on March 27 at the Museum of the San Rafael.

Easter Egg Hunt

Trails End Realty’s 3rd Annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held March 15 indoors at the Carbon County Event Center, 310 South Fairground Road. The Easter Egg hunt for children up to age 3 will begin at 10 a.m., with children from 4 to 7 hunting at 10:20 a.m. and children 8 to 10 hunting at 10:40 a.m. After the egg hunt there will be games for children of all ages.

Job Fair

The Department of Workforce Services, in partnership with the College of Eastern Utah, Price City, Carbon County Chamber of Commerce, Carbon County School District, and Vocational Rehabilitation, are holding a Job Fair on March 13.
The Job Fair will be held on March 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the College of Eastern Utah, Jennifer Leavitt Student Center, on the corner of 500 North 300 East, Price, Utah 84501.
The Job Fair is free to the public.

Festive Fridays

Festive Fridays are back. Sponsored by the Utah State University Extension Office, there are a number of classes coming up over the next few weeks. Among the classes are:
Hop On In! March 14. Easter traditions, symbols, stories and recipes will be discussed and there will be a special Easter Brunch. Cost is $2.
Lotions and Potions. April 18 This class will provide great ideas for Mother’s Day. The cost of the class will be announced at a later date, depending on what items are made. There will be a springtime lunch and the cost for the lunch will be $2.
Fun Family Reunions & Picnics on Parade. May 2. Things to make and do with those you love this summer. Please add your ideas for family reunions. Have them ready for copying and deliver to Chris at the Extension Office by April 25. There will be a picnic. The cost is $2.
All classes begin at noon and last approximately one to one and a half hours. The classes are held upstairs at the Emery County Courthouse. Please RSVP to classes at the Extension Office, 381-2381.

Lions Club
Yard Sale

The Huntington Lions Club is having a Relay for Life Yard Sale on April 26. We want everyone that’s going to do spring cleaning to take part. That means attic, basement, closets, sheds. Please donate and help us with the upcoming Relay for Life. We will give you more information next month on the time and place it will be. Huntington Library Now
Open on Saturday

Saturday hours are now available at the Huntington Library from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The staff of the Emery County Libraries hope that people will take advantage of this change. The Huntington Library is open Monday through Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and on Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Castle Dale Library is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The rest of the libraries in the county are open Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Buckhorn
Archery Club

The Buckhorn Archer’s League will get you out of the house and off the couch for some fun once a week. You will also get in shooting shape for next year’s archery bow hunt. It is something your entire family can do together. Plus it is just plain fun!
Registration is still $20 per person, or $30 for a family. You must purchase insurance and the cost is $7 per year. If you are helping a young shooter you also have to purchase the insurance even if you are not shooting a bow. With no exception, everyone who is participating must have insurance. If you are a person 18 or younger and are still in school the nightly fee is free for you, but you still have to pay the registration fee and for insurance. If you have a child and you would like them to get involved come and talk with us. Food Handler’s Class

There will be a Food Handlers Class on: March 27, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the SEUDHD, 25 West Main Street in Castle Dale. For more information call 381-2252.

San Rafael
Classic Triathlon

The San Rafael Classic Triathlon will be held June 28 at the Huntington State Park staring at 7:30 a.m. In its first running the event is being organized by the Emery County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue and will include a half-mile swim across Huntington Lake, followed by a 15 mile bike ride and then a 5K run, ending back at the lake. Vendors Wanted

The Emery County Fair is now accepting applications for Food and General Vendors for the Emery County Fair, which will be held on July 30, 31 and Aug. 1, 2. To be an exclusive food vendor you must have your application into the Emery County Recreation office by March 21. You may pick up an application at the Emery County Recreation office, 75 South 400 East, Castle Dale at the hours of 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. or visit the website at www.emerycounty.com/fair/vendor.
