Heritage Days Half Marathon

A 5k, 10K and Half Marathon is being planned as part of Heritage Days in Huntington on July 4.  The marathon will take place at 6 a.m.  Registration is $20 and includes a T-shirt and water.  Organizers would like to have an idea of how many participants will race and ask that you call as soon as possible.  Contact Jimmy Gordon, 687-2252/749-2252 or Staci Moss, 748-2675 for more information.

 Spartan Basketball Camp

The Emery Spartan Basketball Camp was held June 6-8 at Emery High School for school grade students from 4^th through 12^th grades. Coach Todd Jeffs conducted the basketball camp and this year 63 youth signed up to hone their basketball skills.  Proceeds for the camp will go toward the Emery High team’s planned trip to San Diego for a three day tournament during the Christmas break from school.  Members of the Emery High team assisted in the camp, helping the younger players develop their skills.   

Golf Tournament Results

On May 31, the Men’s Association held a 2-Man Best Ball Golf Tournament at Millsite Golf Course in Ferron.  Two teams tied for 1^st place with a score of 39, and each member of each team received a $10 prize.  One of the winning teams was composed of Clayton Ward and Ryan Winn, and the other Karl Jensen and Kasey Edgehouse.  The second place team won $5 dollars each.  This team was made up of Marv White and Kent Wilson.  Many more tournaments will take place at Millsite during the summer, and as time passes, expect competition to grow more fierce.
