CEU Amateur
Photography Exhibition
The College of Eastern Utah Prehistoric Museum staff invites amateur photographers to participate in its photography exhibition being displayed from October to December on the second floor mezzanine.
According to Christine Trease, submissions will be accepted the weeks of Oct. 8 -12 and Oct. 15-19 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the museum.
She says no size limit has been set, but the gallery staff reserves the right to jury pieces at their discretion.
“No limit has been placed on number of submissions and submissions will be accepted until the gallery space is filled,” Trease said. “If the need arises to limit pieces, the museum [staff] will do so and inform the public of the new criteria.”
After the photography exhibit concludes, submissions must be picked up Jan. 2-4 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. with no exceptions, she added.
Museum of the San Rafael
reception set for Oct. 24
The Museum of the San Rafael in conjunction with the Emery County Historical Society is pleased to announce a reception in honor of Peter L. Goss, Ph.D.
Peter L. A Goss is an architectural historian and documentary photographer at the University of Utah’s College. Goss has written extensively on historic architecture in Utah and is the co-author of Utah’s Historic Architecture, 1847-1947.
The original photographs were George Edward Anderson’s, one of Utah’s most prolific late nineteenth and early twentieth century photographers. His collection of nearly 15,000 of his glass plate negatives reside in the L. Tom Perry Special Collections at the BYU Lee Library.
