Revealing the Secrets of the
San Rafael Swell

The Emery County Historical Society will present Many Voices: Revealing Secrets of the San Rafael Swell by Dottie Grimes, director of the Emery County Archives, on Feb. 28 at 6:30 p.m. at the Museum of the San Rafael. Music will be offered by Brandon Singleton. Consider supporting the society again this year by renewing your membership. Dues are still only $5.

Lions Club Yard Sale

The Huntington Lions Club is having a Relay for Life Yard Sale on April 26. We want everyone that’s going to do spring cleaning to take part. That means attic, basement, closets, sheds. Please donate and help us with the upcoming Relay for Life. We will give you more information next month on the time and place it will be. Job Fair

The Department of Workforce Services, in partnership with the College of Eastern Utah, Price City, Carbon County Chamber of Commerce, Carbon County School District, and Vocational Rehabilitation, are holding a Job Fair on March 13. This is a convenient way to recruit new employees, promote your company and products, and network with companies.
The Job Fair will be held on March 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the College of Eastern Utah, Jennifer Leavitt Student Center, on the corner of 500 North 300 East, Price, Utah 84501.

San Rafael Classic Triathlon

The San Rafael Classic Triathlon will be held June 28 at the Huntington State Park staring at 7:30 a.m. In its first running the event is being organized by the Emery County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue and will include a half-mile swim across Huntington Lake, followed by a 15 mile bike ride and then a 5K run, ending back at the lake. The Sound of Music

Emery County High School, in partnership with the Emery County Community Theater, will present the musical production of The Sound of Music on Feb. 28, 29 and March 1 at 7 p.m.
The play will be presented using a unique concept in theater productions; it will not have any scenery or backdrop. According to Neal Peacock, director, the audience will “supply the scenery with your mind and imagination.” There will be a full orchestra and the audience will sing along with the cast.

Huntington Library Now
Open on Saturday

Saturday hours are now available at the Huntington Library from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The Emery County Libraries hope that people will take advantage of this change. The Huntington Library is open Monday through Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and on Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Castle Dale Library is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The rest of the libraries in the county are open Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m..

Buckhorn Archery Club
Winter League

The Buckhorn Archer’s winter league is under way. If you have a bow and some arrows, come and join the fun. It will get you out of the house and off the couch for some fun once a week. You will also get in shooting shape for next year’s archery bow hunt. It is something your entire family can do together. Plus it is just plain fun!
Registration is $20 per person, or $30 for a family. You must purchase insurance and the cost is $7 per year. If you are helping a young shooter you also have to purchase the insurance even if you are not shooting a bow. With no exception, everyone who is participating must have insurance. If you are a person 18 or younger and are still in school the nightly fee is free for you, but you still have to pay the registration fee and for insurance. If you have a child and you would like them to get involved come and talk with us. Vendors Wanted

The Emery County Fair is now accepting applications for Food and General Vendors for the Emery County Fair, which will be held on July 30, 31 and Aug. 1, 2. To be an exclusive food vendor you must have your application into the Emery County Recreation office by March 21. You may pick up an application at the Emery County Recreation office, 75 South 400 East, Castle Dale at the hours of 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. or visit the website at www.emerycounty.com/fair/vendor.
