Roger Lee Anderson

HUNTINGTON-Roger Lee Anderson, age 48, passed away unexpectedly February 7, 2008 at his home from pneumonia.
He was born June 22, 1959 in Price, Utah to Soren Arthur and Karen Hope Young Anderson.
On July 18, 1981, he married Michelle Marie Greenan in Huntington and their marriage was sealed in the Manti Temple on December 6, 1998.
Roger was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a lifelong resident of Emery County, where he was presently employed at Mac’s Mining and Machinery.
His job was a very important part of his life, especially those he worked with. His devotion to his work was only exceeded by his love for his family.
Roger enjoyed farming, wood working, four-wheelers and riding horses. He will be sorely missed by his family and many longtime friends.
Survived by his wife, Michelle Anderson, Huntington; three daughters and one son, Melissa (Carl) Shaw, Aurora, UT, Roger “Bro” Anderson and Tawny Conder, Huntington, Kortnie (Trent) Anderson, Roosevelt, Hannah (Cody) Sterling, Salt Lake City; sister and brother, Brenda Tucker, Gale (Mavoreen) Anderson, both of Huntington; two granddaughters, JayLee and Bryar.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service, Tuesday, February 12, 2008, 11:00 a.m., Huntington First LDS Ward. Family will be at the church Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Tuesday one hour prior to service. Interment; Huntington City Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price.

Denise Hurst Brown

CASTLE DALE-Denise Hurst Brown passed away February 6, 2008 in Price, Utah, after a courageous battle with liver disease.
Denise was born July 4, 1962 in Provo, Utah, to Roy W. Hurst and Janet F. Hancock Hurst. Denise grew up on the west side of Provo down by Mud Lake. She attended schools in Provo and eventually earned her G.E.D. later in life. She attended Utah Technical College in Provo where she earned her C.N.A. degree. She worked as a great care giver in many nursing facilities throughout Utah and Emery counties. At the time of her death she was employed with San Rafael Research.
Her greatest joy in this world was her daughter, Desiree, who has the same great love that her mother had for all cats—especially stray cats. Denise loved to be with family in all capacities especially camping and fishing. She loved to crochet and gave many hand made gifts to her family and friends. She had a blessed gift of making friends with all she met and never knew a stranger. She was loved by all of her cousins, aunts, uncles, and many nieces and nephews.
Denise is survived by her daughter, Desiree; brothers: Mike (Toni) Hurst, Shawn (Julie) Hurst; and sister: Sherrie Cammack, all of Castle Dale.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Rick Hurst, and all grandparents.
Funeral services were February 9, 2008, at the Castle Dale LDS Third Ward Chapel, 165 West 800 North, at 2:00 p.m. Internment was in the Castle Dale City Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to attend a luncheon that will follow at the Castle Dale Third Ward building. Services are under the care of Fausett Mortuary.

Vernon Barry Curtis

CASTLE DALE / SPANISH FORK – Vernon Barry Curtis, age 66, died February 5, 2008, in Spanish Fork, Utah. He was born to Doyle and Inez Curtis on September 16, 1941, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was raised there and in Kanab, Utah, where he graduated high school in 1960.
At 15, he met Mareah Larsen on a New Year’s Eve blind date. Five years later, on June 9, 1961, he married her. The union was solemnized a year later in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. The couple was married 43 years and raised five children together, primarily on their family farm in Castle Dale, Utah.
Vern earned a bachelor’s degree in math and education from the University of Utah, a master’s degree in recreational education from Brigham Young University, and a doctoral degree in education from California Western University.
An educator for more than four decades, he taught math and computer classes in schools across Utah, in Snowflake, Arizona, and in Las Vegas, Nevada. He also traveled extensively, living and teaching for years in Medellin, Colombia; Kwajalein, Marshall Islands; Cairo, Egypt; and Beijing, China. Most recently, he taught math at Mont Harmon Junior High School in Price, Utah.
He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
He is survived by his former wife, Mareah Curtis of Castle Dale; wife, Ling Curtis of Spanish Fork; sons, Chris (Marla), Dale (Wendy), and John (Denise), all of Phoenix; daughters, Trina (Gene) Davis, and Lynnette of Las Vegas; baby son, Bowan, of Spanish Fork; brothers, Eugene and Norman (Bonnie); sisters, Genean (Lee) Hickenlooper, and Carla (David) Lingwall; and 13 grandchildren. At the time of his death, he was an expectant great-grandfather.
Funeral Services were February 9, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Fausett Mortuary (720 North Center – Castle Dale, Utah). Interment was in the Castle Dale City Cemetery. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary.

Elizabeth Joan Wilson Lloyd

PRICE - Elizabeth Joan Wilson Lloyd, age 86, of Price, Utah, died Tuesday, February 5, 2008 in Price, Utah. Elizabeth was born October 3, 1921 in Lund, Idaho. She was the first and only daughter of Joseph Ellis Wilson Jr. and Annie Izatt. Her youth was spent in Lund, Idaho on the family farm. She loved being outside. She attended Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho for one year before she got married. She married Clarence Parke Lloyd on June 6, 1940 in the LDS Logan, Utah Temple. They lived in Southeast Idaho for six years. In 1946 they moved to Ontario, Oregon for 57 years. Clarence and “Beth” were blessed with seven children. Elizabeth worked at Ore-Ida foods in Quality Control for 28 years.
Throughout her life, Elizabeth was active in her church. Elizabeth and Clarence worked in the Boise Temple for two years. After Clarence passed away, Elizabeth served a mission in Arkansas. She loved being in the mission field and met many people who have made lasting impressions on her life as she did on theirs. Elizabeth has lived the past 5 years in Price, Utah with her daughter Annette.
Survivors, include two daughters, Mrs. Melvin Howell (Marsha), of Turlock, California and Mrs. Steve Swasey (Annette) of Price, Utah; four sons, Howard (Judy) Lloyd, Jerold (Susan) Lloyd, and Wayne (Luann) Lloyd of Salt Lake City and Stanley Lloyd of Bellingham, Washington; 36 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Lloyd, one daughter and son-in-law, Jeanette & Tomas V. Moore, five brothers, and three grandchildren.
Funeral Services were February 7, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary (680 East 100 South – Price, Utah).
Interment was Feb. 9, 2008 in the Rosedale Memorial Gardens, in Payette, Idaho. Services in the care of Fausett Mortuary.
